Cold Blooded but not Cold Hearted

About Leopard Geckos

  • They are solitary reptiles. Despite what you may see in pet stores, they must be house individually.

  • They are crepuscular, meaning they are most active during dawn and dusk.

  • They shed and eat their shed.

  • Their enclosures must consist of a hot, humid, and cool side.

  • In my opinion, they must have a heat source AND UVB lighting.

  • They are insectivores and must only eat live bugs. A variety of bugs such as mealworms, dubia roaches, super-worms, wax worms, crickets, horn-worms, etc.

  • You must gut-load your insects before feeding your reptile (or any animal). “You are what you eat” and if you’re providing your bugs with a nutritional diet, your pet will also benefit from those nutrients :)

  • Leopard Geckos must be housed in no less than a 40Gal.

Here is shown Sage, our 8ft Boa Constrictor eating a frozen-thawed rat. She was an owner surrender in January 2023. She came to us with many health issues but now resides healthy and happy as a permanent snake ambassador for All God’s Creatures.
